"Before we were born, we lived with God, the Father of our spirits. All of us on earth are literally brothers and sisters in His family, and each of us is precious to Him."
Here's my sweet baby, fresh from heaven. He has brought so much joy to our family in the last nine months and we're so glad he's here!
With this new addition, and even before, I've been focused on my own little crew so I was debating about not trying to reconnect with the social world - but my friend shared a message with me, The War Goes On, and I thought it was relevant and helpful for our journey, right here and now, here on earth. I hesitate to compare parenting to a battle - but you know how it goes... We can use all the help we can get! I thought it gave insightful ideas for resisting the strategies that try to pull us and our kids down.
I noticed that several of the messages during General Conference focused on this same theme. Between what I can remember, and what I could hear over my children, I decided it's time to refocus on one of the messages each week (or month - we'll see how it goes).
"The world sees birth and death as the beginning and the end. But because of God's holy plan, we know that birth and death are actually just milestones on our journey to eternal life with our Heavenly Father."
